Busy Season, a Handmade Legacy & Our New Curated Stocking Sets

Busy season is here, and at this point, my hands are practically attached to my sewing machine. There are stockings to stitch, fabrics to pair, orders to pack, and approximately twelve other things I remember the second I sit down.

But in the middle of all that making, I keep thinking about the machine itself.

This is the sewing machine that carried Diane through so many seasons of her life. The one she sat behind while building this beautiful business, one stocking and one family at a time. Now I’m sitting in that same spot, making stockings that will become part of someone else’s Christmas traditions.

That gets me a little emotional. I’m honored to keep this legacy going, even on the days when my studio looks like a fabric store sneezed.

Still Learning, Still Stitching

I’m also very much still getting the hang of running my own product business.

I’ve spent years on the marketing side of the conversation. Give me a website, an ad campaign, or a story to tell, and I’m in familiar territory. Product planning? Procurement? Figuring out how much of a particular fabric I’ll need before everyone falls in love with it?

A slightly different skill set, as it turns out. 😂

I’m learning as I go, figuring out what works for this little shop and how to make ordering easier for you while keeping the handmade part manageable for me. And this year, that’s led to something I’m especially excited about: curated stocking sets.

Pick Your Style. I’ll Handle Your Mantel.

Red and gold your vibe?
Rich crimson, warm gold, and a little Christmas grandeur. Pick your quantity, and I’ll put together a set worthy of your favorite holiday traditions.

Navy and white more your style?
A classic coastal Christmas looks good on you. Let me pair crisp whites and deep blues for a mantel that feels right at home, seaside or otherwise.

Love a little black-and-gold drama?
Your mantel deserves to dress up, too. I’ll bring together bold blacks and warm golds for a Christmas look with a little extra sparkle.

A So Many Looks to Fall in Love With

Not sure where to start? Here are a few palettes I’d love to play matchmaker with. Choose your Christmas feeling and how many stockings you need, and I’ll bring your set together.

If you love the look of a coordinated stocking collection but don’t particularly want to spend your evening comparing cuffs, patterns, and shades of cream, this is for you.

You choose your style and the number of stockings you need. I take care of the pairing.

I’ll pull together fabrics, patterns, and textures within your chosen palette to create a set that feels like it belongs together, with a little personality in every stocking. Think cousins, not identical twins.

Because I work in small batches, my fabric shelves are always changing. Some fabrics are remnants, some are lucky finds, and some only have enough left for a handful of stockings. There’s usually something lovely floating around the studio that hasn’t had its moment yet.

These curated sets give me the freedom to put those fabrics to work—and let you order at a slightly lower price because I have more flexibility in what I use. You get a thoughtfully coordinated set, and I get to have a little fun at the fabric table.

The collection photos show the overall style and color palette. Your exact fabrics and combinations will vary depending on what’s available when I make your order. That little element of surprise is part of the fun.

A Little Trust Goes a Long Way

One thing to know before ordering: curated sets don’t include fabric previews or photo approval before I start stitching. I understand wanting to see how everything will come together. But between pulling fabrics, photographing options, sending messages, and waiting on approvals, nobody would get their Christmas stockings until Easter. And while I appreciate an enthusiastic holiday decorator, that feels a little late.

Choosing a curated set means handing the coordinating over to me. Pick a palette you love, tell me how many stockings belong on your mantel, and let me do my thing. And if your finished set doesn’t blend together, I’ll work with you to make it right. I want you to feel good about what you’re hanging up year after year.

Thank You for Keeping This Little Shop Busy

Every order means I get to spend more time making things with my hands and continuing something that mattered long before it became mine.

Thank you for trusting my eye, cheering me on while I learn, and making room for handmade in your family’s traditions. There’s a real person behind these stockings, usually surrounded by fabric, a lukewarm Diet Pepsi, probably overdue for a stretch, and very grateful to be here.
